 Introduced in 1993, the Grid 8000 CL was designed for runners who demanded premium cushioning and stability, and featured the namesake midsole technology, G.R.I.D. (Groud Reaction Inertia Device). GRID works by displacing impact across the surface area of the midsole, eliminating hotspots and providing a remarkably smooth ride. On top of that, a new curved last design offered unrivaled comfort by allowing the shoe to move with the foot. For the modern reintroduction, Saucony have stripped down the model to focus on premium materials and modern design, with the all-day comfort of the Original.

Saucony Originals has joined forces with LA’s The Quiet Life for a special Collab using the Shadow 5000 Silhouette.

The sneakers are inspired by celestial constellations, which adorn the shoe’s upper. Black and light blue suede has been used from toe to heel leading you from darkness into daylight, while a white midsole breaks things up underneath.

Le coq sportif is proud to be partnering with the iconic Hawaiian surf brand Town & Country Surf Designs. This collaboration is inspired by the ‘90s, and features two different versions of the LCS R800, an iconic running shoe from the time. 

The LCS R800 Checkers plays on the surf brand’s graphics and its famous black and white chequerboard pattern on the heel cap and inner lining. Clever bright pink details accent this model, whose outer sole forms an oversized Town & Country logo.

The LCS R800 optical white’s contrast onlays - in ‘90s favourites bright turquoise and intense violet - pop against the optical white mesh and grey suede. The outer sole bears the brand’s logo in a multicolour allover print, a nod to all the colours the Town & Country emblem wore over the decade.

Le coq sportif is taking things one step further, with a coconut scent developed especially for the collaboration. This fragrance, incorporated into the outer sole, pays homage to surfboard wax and is sure to transport surfers and beach bums straight to the world’s most beautiful surfing spots.

To capture the essence of this summery collaboration, both shoes were photographed on the south-west coast of France, one of Europe’s best surfing destinations.

This collaboration draws its energy from each brand’s incredible heritage and their shared values of authenticity and product quality. To celebrate summer, both models will be available from 25 June in select premium stores like colette and Le Rayon Frais in France, 24Kilates in Barcelona, Footpatrol in London, SlamJam in Italy and Melbourne's neighbourhood sneaker store Concrete Jungle, Brunswick.
